Most recently Mr. Wilkes was Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FleetRisk Advisors, Inc., the recognized pioneer in risk analytics for the commercial transportation and logistics market. FleetRisk brought together insurance risk management, in-vehicle telematics, and sophisticated predictive analytics. The Company’s service allowed commercial fleet operators to predict future accident risks and reduce their insurance and loss costs by 50% or more. FleetRisk was sold to Qualcomm, Inc. in early 2011.
Mr. Wilkes early career was spent with IBM Corporation. He joined IBM as a systems engineer and spent twelve years in various sales, marketing and systems roles. Since IBM, Mr. Wilkes has been either founder or co-founder of a number of software and services companies. His entrepreneurial background began in the early days of insurance agency automation. After selling his first company, Mr Wilkes founded a company that became the leading provider of document automation systems and services to the worldwide insurance industry. The company was taken public in 1998. After a short retirement, he founded one of the first data aggregation and transaction processing exchanges for the property & casualty insurance industry.
Mr. Wilkes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Masters of Business Administration in International Marketing, both from the University of Florida.
