Charted Territory
Deal volume ticked up slightly in February 2014, compared with February 2013. Last month there were 61 healthcare deals announced, up 7% compared with the year earlier. The Long-Term Care sector posted the most deals, up 29% to 22 announcements, but the Services sector didn’t show any gains against the year-ago total of 35 deals. The Technology sector brought the modest total up, with 26 deals announced in last month, compared with the year-ago period. Measured against January 2014, however, which had 95, last month doesn’t look as promising, but these are still preliminary figures.
